Welcome to L.A.C.A.E – Latin American Community Association of Edinburgh, a vibrant cultural and community organisation dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and promoting Latin American culture in Scotland.
Founded with the vision of creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, LACAE works to build meaningful bridges between Latin American and Scottish communities through arts, culture, education, wellbeing, and social connection.
At the heart of our organisation is the LACAE House of Culture, a community hub where people of all backgrounds can come together to learn, share experiences, celebrate diversity, and feel at home. Through workshops, festivals, family activities, cultural performances, youth programmes, and community events, we create opportunities for people to connect, grow, and thrive together.
As a registered Scottish charity, LACAE is passionate about empowering communities, supporting integration, promoting inclusion, and giving visibility to the rich traditions, creativity, and contributions of Latin American cultures.
Our work includes:
- Cultural festivals and community celebrations
- Youth and children’s creative workshops
- Dance, music, and arts activities
- Community wellbeing and social inclusion projects
- Volunteer and leadership opportunities
- Educational and intercultural programmes
We believe culture has the power to unite people, inspire pride, and strengthen communities. Whether you are Latin American, Scottish, or simply interested in learning more about our cultures, LACAE welcomes you to be part of our growing family.
